Relief Care Assistant
Shepherdson Court Day Centre

We are looking for an experienced care assistant to work ad hoc hours when required. There are no guaranteed hours of work but depending on attendance in the day centre we are anticipating this role could be on average 15 hours week.

The day centre operates Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm so the hours would be within that time frame and could be on different days each week.

The role would consist of assisting clients with toileting and mealtimes where necessary. We like to encourage our clients to participate in a number of different activities & entertainment we offer and this role would be very much involved with assistance with those activities.

Our clients come for a full day or 1/2 day session and have a full 3 course meal provided at lunchtime. We cater for people who would like a day of socialising & activities - this is so important for elderly people to avoid isolation and also acts as a respite for their carers if being supported by family at home.

We do have some clients with mild dementia so any previous experience of dealing with that would be an asset.
